Ski & Board

One day will never be enough to get to know the whole of the Ski Arlberg ski region. There are so many different runs and varied slopes for skiers and snowboarders. With Lech, Zürs, St. Anton, St. Christoph and Stuben, the ski region stretches over 5 regions. In this snow sure and facet rich ski region right in front of our Hotel, great fun on the slopes is guaranteed.

Even more kilometres of ski runs

The Ski Arlberg skiing region is not only the cradle of alpine ski sports, it’s also a superlative place where even more fun on the slopes is guaranteed. For skiers who just haven’t had enough, the connecting cable car system, the “Auenfeldjet” takes them on to the Warth-Schröcken ski region in just a few minutes.

Alpine Skiing

Father Johann Müller contemplated how to make the journey from Warth to Lech easier. He discovered the solution in the Scandinavian newspapers: skiers have to come here! And so the sport of skiing evolved in the Arlberg…..

Over 100 years later this idea took on further dimensions with which Johann Müller had not reckoned: 340 perfectly prepared kilometres of slopes, modern lifts and cable cars, a top class Fun Park and runs at different levels of ability are just a few of the highlights in the Lech Zürs ski region.

“Der Weiße Ring” – “The White Ring”

Skiing has been celebrated at the White Ring for over 50 years. For winter sports enthusiasts the White Ring presents a sporting challenge with about 22 km of skiing pistes, 5,500 m of difference in altitude and a sightseeing tour with viewing platforms. You can find more information on the skiing circuit, race and the creator of the White Ring, Dipl.-Ing. Sepp Bildstein here

Every year in January the worlds longest ski race takes place in Lech-Zürs:
“Der Weiße Ring – Das Rennen”.

Freeride Skiing

Lech Zürs am Arlberg offers everything that carvers and snowboarders and those who like to go off-piste covet – including guaranteed snow and 200 km of high Alpine deep-snow runs. Thrills and skiing pleasure are guaranteed beyond the prepared slopes. This winter sports resort is THE perfect destination for all those who are looking for this special experience.

Lorraine Huber, one of the top stars of the scene who took second place at Freeride 2014, also prefers to train in her hometown of Lech.

Unspoilt nature, the most splendid deep snow off piste and practically endless possibilities await discerning skiers. Highly trained ski guides take the off-piste enthusiasts to the most wonderful viewing platforms and secret locations beyond the normal routes. For example, the longest deep powder snow run, the 5.5-kilometre-long “Madloch” descent, gives you a special feeling of freedom in unique natural surroundings which, with its many deep snow possibilities, will stay in every freerider's memory simply for its fantastic view over Lech, Zug and the Kriegerhorn.

Heliskiing

Heli-skiing offers freeride aficionados a truly memorable experience. Lech Zürs is the only resort in Austria to offer packages for this exciting snow activity.

You can choose between two magnificent peaks:

1) MEHLSACK
…ideal for experienced skiers, powder in winter, firn snow in spring.

2) SCHNEETALORGELSCHARTE
…recommended for skiers with intermediate skills – and is particularly attractive in the spring on the hard-packed snow.

“Powdering” is only really fun when the skiers are aware of the risks and act accordingly in a careful and responsible way, and this is especially true off-piste. At the annual Snow & Safety Conference, leading experts in the field come together.
